ditto here - Mac OS is the choice nowadays and I tend to stop thinking of using jasper for our satellite related data if support is rather deaf. it would be 10+ years mission, so pitty for you, Jasper..
cheers,
chris
It is a nightmare, I am sorry but I must say it will be a show stopper as to choose your product in my Healthcare Business...
Its been 6 months it is set as minor where the tMAP is simply the basic of all jobs...
You are not serious at all on that subject...
...the referenced link to bug #1225 is classified as 'minor' yet it is an absolute show stopper. With a 'minor' classification, its no small wonder that it has not been addressed. Its too bad too, potentially a great product. It should be reclassified in my opinion.
This post talks about only on tMap problems on Mac platform.
We are very sorry for disagreements, but we can't promise you to resolve all these problems.
Some of them depend on independent graphical layer (Eclipse SWT library) in particular drag and drop problems.
You can follow the resolutions of these problems on [Bugtracker] bug 1225.
I agree too, its just not possible to work with such a buggy installation...
I am running MacOS X 10.5.2 and the tMAP does not work well since you cannot drag and drop links etc... plus bugs from time to time forcing me to relaunch talend...
Please help!
I agree with the previous posts. I'm learning Talend and it looks like it has a lot of potential, but using it on my mac is so painful......
There is quite a bit of GUI problems like drag and drop do not work in the tMap editor. It seems as if the coordinate system is not locked down and when dropped, the calculation of where is wrong. Scrollbars always do not work properly and some windows don't expand. Again it smacks of coordinate system problems.
first of all the GUIs are only useable with french I guess. All other languages with different text length corrupt the dialog layout.
In a lot of cases the GUI is not ready to use:
E.g. the creation of a database connection is terrible, because after every letter the focus switch to the defintion string.
The Mac installation contains no executable binary (I guess linux version also not. All files are created under Windows, though the chmod command propably has never run.
I could fix that with manual change of the binary file attributes.
