I, too, support this.  At the least, Talend should be able to add "yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm:ss" to the list of standard options even if they won't give us the ability to manipulate the default options ourselves.

It leaves us to edit it manually, each time... :-/

Currently, they do not see this as a need or feature.  They closed the request to change it, and have not told me how to change it myself.

So I don't know where that leaves us.

I'm also interested in being able to edit the suggestion list.
Is the list available somewhere (as a text file) or as a setting?

(Or is it backed into the code? And hence a new feature request?)

It's not a bug, because its not broken.  I just want to adjust the list to my taste.

Is this list compiled into the main program?
does it need to be adjusted before compiling?

But is this a new feature? The  dropdown must be getting the formats from somewhere!

The requirement is to change the contents of the date format dropdown. I would also like to do this as there isn't an entry for any of my default date formats.

Hi

Just type "yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm:ss" in this textfield.

Pedro

I uploaded a screenshot of the place where I want to edit the list.

Does this make more sence.

Hi

Hope I understand what you mean correctly.
Date pattern of each file can be edited when you add a column in schema of any input component.
The following image will show more detail.
Pressing "Space+Ctrl" will open a suggested list.

Here is a scenario.
The data in one delimited file is as follow.

Code:

2012-03-22 13:01:21
2012-03-22T13:01:22
2012-03-22 13:01:23000Z

When I set the schema as Image 1, these three rows will be corrected automatically(Image 2).

Pedro

What file contains the "date pattern" suggested list and can it be edited?

I know this is trivial, but its a pet peeve.  thanks for your patience with me.

I would like to add the date pattern "yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm:ss".

Currently, there are 2 that are close:

1. "yyyy-MM-dd'T'HH:mm:ss"  -- this has a 'T' which i have to delete
2. "yyyy-MM-dd'T'HH:mm:ss'000Z'"  --this has 'T' and  '000Z'

Neither of them are what I need, and so each time I have to manually edit the pattern.

Is there a way to add or change the exisiting patterns in the list?

Thanks again
