Hi all,

I found the problem smile it was just blocnote, that does not display carriage returns. i open my file with WordPad and it's ok i have the good things.

Hi Pedro,

So, i have a input file with a lot of line who needed to create 5 positionnal file. Now with this 5 positionnal file i need to create a file with the differents data and create line.

for example:
L1 (in new file) take in line1 (of my input file = fisrt positionnal file) 2 differents data & 3 data in line2 (seconde positionnal file)
L2 (in new file) take in line 3 4 data & 2 in line4
L3 etc.

Easier, I have 5 positionnal file and I make one file with different line with a lot of data.

But when i make my first line i need a return line to make my seconde line.

It's better or u need a different explanation?

Sorry, i'm not good in English for a good explanation...

I use the tfileInputMSPositional component use a tmap and to finish tFileOutputPositionnal for make a new file with the data needed.
Apparently I have to use the component that you indicate to me, thanks.

But i need to make return line for an other line with other data, how to process for make an return line? a component can make it?

If it's not the case, how to configure a different setting for each lines?

Hi Pedro,

Yes each line have an accurate rule.

For example the line1 is N2 N3 C3 C1 N8 N4 N3 C2 C2 (fields length). But line2 have an other fields length (N3 N2 N10 N8 N14) and line3 is (N3 N2 C1 N4 ...).

is it that?

Hi all,

I have a little problem...

I don't know how to process to separate my information in my text file.

My file have a lot of information (number or characters) with different length fields in all lines and no separator between informations, sometimes there are spaces between two data concatenation

for example:
L1)00000AAAA123456789012345AAAA
L2)0123456789012345678901234567890123456
L3)01234A0123456789012345678901234567                  0000000000000100  0 00000AA005          AAAAAAAAA                     01234AAAA0A012345678901234567890123456789012AAAAAA AAAA0123     01234567890123456789012345678901234567890123456789012345678901234567890123456789012345678901234567890123

exemple separation:
L1) 00 000 AAA A 12345678 9012 345 AA AA

but for line 2 & 3 isn't the same method if it was the same method i would have used "positionnal file" but i can't because the fields isn't the same length... And between line 2 & 3 isn't the same method also...
I have a few line with the same length fields.

I don't see how separate this file... I think create a routine and use it in tmap component, good idea?

If anyone have an other idea, post it ^^.
