Welcome to Talend Community!
I guess someone moved this topic from other section so I didn't notice it until now.
I don't think hard coding in tJava for DB connection is a good way.
Why don't use DB components?
tHttpRequest doesn't support retrieve cookie get header. For any new feature, you'd better report it on BugTracker.

Hi..
Am new to Talend and did not yet get comfortable with the tool.
I need database connection for my job. Could I use tjava to connect to the database(using java code) instead of the database components of Talend ? Would it have any effect on my over all performance?
I am also unable to retrieve the cookie from tHttpRequest component of Talend. The response contains only the body of the response. Is there anyway I can get the header of the http response using tHttpRequest?
