Hi Frank,
if you just want to install locally you could extract the files and than just do a copy.
I think the only "special function" of the installer is creating the entry in the start menu. Additional I think it would also be possible to copy a prepared installation this way (with predefined values for JDK, Perl and so on).

It is impossible. You need to unzip the distribution manually after you download Talend Open studio.
