Hello,
Is there a way in TOP to view the progress of a long running analysis? E.g. in a system event log or something similar? I understand from the user guide that individual queries are executed under the covers when using the SQL engine. It would be nice to see the progress of the analysis as it progresses through the generated queries.
I am running TOP V4.1.0.r49467.
Thanks,
George

Hi George,
a way to see the progress of an analysis is to look at the Error Log view where all queries are written before being executed.
To open this view, choose the menu "window > Show view" then "General > Error Log"

Can analyses be executed as background tasks so that the screen is freed up during a long running task?
Thanks,

Thanks once again Sebastiao!

Hi Sebastiao,
That doesn't seem to work for me in 4.1.0 or 4.1.1 (see also related bug report 16356 [Bugtracker, bug 16356, fixed] "Run Analysis" window not displayed).
It works in 4.0.3. though.
I'm curious if this is just my machine, or others also have that issue.
Cheers.

Hi mreuter80,
I confirm that the "run in background" pop-up has disappeared in 4.1. It's not wanted and we'll fix it as soon as possible.

Thanks Sebastiao for the confirmation. Thought something was wrong with my setup.
Keep in mind: it's not only the window that disappeared. On my version non of the analysis actually run in background. The application freezes until the analysis is done. Do you want me to add that to the bug report I mentioned earlier?
cheers
