Unable to create metadata file .LDIF

Hi,

I'm a newbie.

I'm using TOS for DI v5 Java on Win 7 64b
We received a file for analysis that has been extracted from an LDAP server.
The file has been generated as .ldif format and saved with extension .LDF

When creating a file ldif in the metadata repository I get this error:
"Preview error due to a wrong format"
There is no point in continuing with the file creation as TOS will not recognise the .ldif schema.

We have tried renaming the file extension from .LDF to .LDIF  but it won't work, we keep getting same error.

1) Any suggestions on how to create a .LDF metadata file?
2) Any ideas on how to convert .LDF file into a .LDIF file?
3) Anyone knows where can I find *detailed* documentation on TOS LDAP components and TOS .LDIF DQ/DI? all the help & info found on this is very limited

Thanks for your help

Re: Unable to create metadata file .LDIF

One thing I can help you with, is to find the description and scenario examples for the components.

Just drag and drop the component you want details for to the job designer, and press F1.

Other than that no knowledge about LDIF files usage in Talend.
