Hi All.
With a lot of the commercial packages you are (potentially) paying for IP around the experience of matching customers (names, address) etc.
So differences in address format e.g. flat number & street number, name aliases such as Tom/Thomas, Mr/Dr and all the other slight differences you might say are the same for a potential match.
Has anyone published any pre-canned customer/address rules for matching?
cheers
Andy.

Hi Andy
Welcome to Talend Community!
Talend Open Studio for Data Integration is an ETL product. You'd better simplify the business logic in ETL way.
So what's your input source and the result you want?
If there isn't an accurate rule, we won't know how to do this matching.

Pedro

for example a user logs on to a web site and enters there name as Dr Tom Smith Flat 1, 3 high street, somewhere town. In our customer database we have Mr Thomas Smith 3, high street, somewhere town.
It's quite likely this is the same person. So we want to be able to match based on rules. Commercial products have out of the box rules for things like Dr can be equivalent to Mr, Tom & Thomas the same and give weightings to these for probablistic matching.
In Talend if you get the enterprise support there is matching capability aviailable but we'd need to write all the rules ourselve for matching name and address variations.
So just wondering if anyone had published these for talend in open source traditions to enable a decent head start.
