[resolved] Problem in Maintaning SCD with tOracleSCD

Tags: [database, error, SCD]

Hi,

I am using Talend MDM CE V5.0.2.

I am facing a problem with tOracleSCD Component.

I am extracting data from MDM Data Container and maintaning an SCD in our Database.

While Inserting new records I don't have any Problem but while updating the existing records then it got inserted into the table but with active flag = 0. The old and New records both have the active flag = 0.  The New Updated records should be inserted with active flag =1 but it is getting inserted with active flag = 0.

Please find the screen shot and let me know if there is any problems.

Awaiting your reply...

Thanks,
Sachin

Re: [resolved] Problem in Maintaning SCD with tOracleSCD

Hi Shicong,

Please find the attached Screen Shot of the Result.

In this particular example "ID" is my primary key, and I have updated the "STATUS" from "New" to "Aproved" and loaded the same through my ETL Job to the data base.
The New records gets loaded in to the Database but tith active flag =0, which should be 1.

Please check my previous Screen sot for the Logic implementaed for SCD.

Please guide me How to solve this problem.

Looking forward for your response....

Thanks and Regards,
Sachin

Re: [resolved] Problem in Maintaning SCD with tOracleSCD

Hi
From your result, i seen this record is an old record, the end time is not null. If it is the latest record, the end time should be null. Please check it?

Best regards
Shong

Re: [resolved] Problem in Maintaning SCD with tOracleSCD

Dear Shicong,

It is the latest Record which I am pushing it through a ETL Job, but It is getting inserted into the database with endtime and active flag =0. That is actually my concern. The New records should got inserted with active flag = 1and end time null but it is not happening.

Hope I could explain what is my concern...

Thanks and Regards,
Sachin
