Merging Two Sources With The Same Schema Before tMap

Tags: [java, mssql, tos2.3.3]

Given the function description of tUnite in the Component Guide, "Merges data from various sources, based on a common schema." I would think that the following would be pretty straight-forward, unless it's a tMap limitation or maybe it's just me...

I have two MSSQLInputs with the same schema and I'd like to combine them and send them to a tMap in order to assign a sequence ID prior to loading.

Is using tUnite before tMap a TOS no-no?

While I can accomplish this a different way for my task at hand, I have to ask why this is not as straight-forward as I'd like to think.

What am I missing?

Nevermind, I figured it out.  I threw a tBufferOutput between the tUnite and tMap.
