Best OS to run the studio : Linux or Windows ?

I'm currently running TIS 3.0.4 on the following platform :

CPU : Pentium 4 - 3GHz
RAM : 2Gb
OS   : Win XP SP2

The SVN server is on a linux redhat 4 server.

Here is a timeline of the launching of the studio

t 0
dbl click on TISTE-win32-x86.exe

t 58s
display of the project selector screen

t 60s
after selection of the projet, click on Connect ..

t 1:40
display of the studio, log on process... Generation engine init... etc...

t 4:25
all right, I can begin my work by opening a job (the first job takes 40 seconds to open, others are quite fast)

This is for the fisrt launch of the studio, if I switch to another project, it is faster, it take about 30s instead of 4:25.

Does anybody have similar problems ? Is it better on Linux ?

Here at Talend offices, we have Linux and Windows desktops. Talend Open Studio indeed launches faster on Linux (much faster) because the hard disk access is faster and we use it lot for "Template generation engine in progress" long step.
