[resolved] Poor Performance on Save Operations (any ideas for tuning?)

During my use of Open Profiler I find that any kind of Save operation causes the application to hang for several minutes. I'm working with a Windows XP box, Intel Core2 Duo CPU (2.66 GHz), 3 GB of RAM.

Product Info:
Open Profiler
Version: 3.2.3
Build id: r35442-20100111-1245

Does anyone have tips for tuning performance so that I get subsecond response time on save operations?

Thanks,

Mac

Re: [resolved] Poor Performance on Save Operations (any ideas for tuning?)

Hi Mac,

That sounds strange.  What is the executable file that you are using? Is it the one dedicated to your OS?

Does the platform hang several minutes only after it is started, or does it still hang even when the platform is launched for some time?

Re: [resolved] Poor Performance on Save Operations (any ideas for tuning?)

That appears to have been the issue. I was using the executable ending in win32-x86.exe, and it was very slow. Switching to the win32-wpf.exe speed things up considerably. Unfortunately there are a some UI display issues in the win32-wpf.exe.

I'll report those separately. Thanks,

Mac

nice to hear.

Though, it's still strange that the x86 is this slow as it is the recommended platform...
Could you see whether you don't get some errors in the error log:  http://www.talendforge.org/wiki/doku.ph … bugtracker

Thanks for the tip. I acutally went back into the app to retest this today and generate a log for you, but everything is quite fast now. Must have been some other activities on my PC on Friday.

Hi Kishore,

I suggest you to post a new topic for each of these questions. Otherwise, you won't get any answer if different topics are mixed together like that.
And give a bit more of details about what you would like to know.
