using TOS 5.0.2  or TOS 5.1.1 Java perspective - I saw a nice youtube presentation, but we miss a maven feature to build  camel routes with extended features (security, CXF interreptors, ..) using blueprints (or event just to import exmaples). If I install the maven eclipse feature, it seems to require complete JDT features too.  So - my suggestion is, that Talend TOS (ESB, MDM, DI, ..)  could be built on top of Eclipse IDE (or event IDE EE). I know - the tool could become heawyweight a little, but IMHO worth  to consider.

Nowaday if we have to use a separate IDE (or am I wrong?) or a command line to build oter services (OSGi bundles), but I see no technical reason to do so.

well - I could see business reason not to do so - there would be features enables that competes with today's Talend Enterprise offeiring.
