It analyzes data on an ongoing basis, and analyzes changes to source data over time to help improve data quality.

This tutorial shows you how to install and launch Talend Open Studio for Data Quality.

Prerequisite:
To run Talend Open Studio for Data Quality, you need the most recent JVM from Oracle. To download JVM 1.6, go to http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp

Download Talend Open Studio for Data Quality


Open your Web browser.

Go to Talend's Web site:
http://www.talend.com

In the home page, go to the Download Now! section of the page and click Data Quality to access the corresponding download page.

Install Talend Open Studio for Data Quality


In your file explorer:

Browse to the downloaded file and extract it.

We recommend using 7zip to extract all Talend's solutions. So, right-click the zip file and select Extract on the menu.

On the unzip application:

Extract TOP-All-r50363-V4.1.1.zip in a new folder called talend.

A Talend Open Profiler folder is extracted. Double-click it to open it.

Launch Talend Open Studio for Data Quality


In the extracted folder:

You can see several execution files. Those files can be used to run Talend Open Studio for Data Quality on different environment like Linux, Mac, Solaris and Windows.

As we are using a 32-bit Windows environment for this tutorial, we double-click the win32 execution file to run Talend Open Studio for Data Quality.

You can create a shortcut to your desktop if you want to quickly access the solution.

A window pops up prompting you to read and accept the terms of the license.

Click Accept to continue to launch Talend Open Studio for Data Quality.

Talend Open Studio for Data Quality Registration page pops up prompting to join the Talend community. To do so, fill in your email address in the Email field, click Next and follow the instructions.

Or click Register later to directly access Talend Open Studio for Data Quality.
