I'm trying to install perl complementary modules using "ppm install" command, as described in the installation guide.
Unfortunately, i'm behind a proxy and the host seems to be unreachable.
How can i install those items anyway ?
I don't know how to configure PPM through a proxy, but I give a workaround:
1. download the PPM module directly on ActiveState website, for example Text::CSV_XS, revision 0.23
2. copy file the zip file in a dedicated directory "C:\ppm_repository" and unzip it
3. run the following ppm session:
C:\temp> ppm ppm> rep add "local" C:\ppm_repository ppm> rep up "local" ppm> install Text-CSV_XS
What you've made is creating a local repository of PPM modules and making it prioritary over the remote repository. Feedback welcome :-)
ok, the module is correctly installed now.
But the "ppm" command has opened the graphical interface. I've managed to declare the local repository there and to install the module this way.
Thanks for your support.
