Availability of Talend’s source code on GitHub

Dear Community,

We are pleased to announce the availability of Talend’s source code in GitHub repositories. You will be able to find the source code for our Big Data, Data Integration, Data Quality, ESB and MDM products.

A dedicated section is available on the TalendForge that lists source codes per product. Please find it through this link: http://www.talendforge.org/sources/index.php

Thank you for being a part of our community,
The Talend Team.

Re: Availability of Talend’s source code on GitHub

Is the source code moved or copied from SVN hosted by Talend to GitHub ?
It would be great to have a description how to setup a project to work with this source code.
I have a probably out-dated description which causes a couple of errors.

Hi Jan,

The source code has been moved to GitHub and SVN is now in read-only mode. We are now committing on GitHub!

Best,
Pcoffre.

Re: Availability of Talend’s source code on GitHub

What about a build description and a description how to setup a project working with this code.
I have tried it but it is very complex and a very time consuming task to figure out.
There is also a significant difference to SVN because the repositories not are separated in core and DI/ESB/MDM. I appreciate this but all my knowledge about setup a project based on the source organisation in SVN does not work with this new structure. Could you please provide such information, I would like to be able to contribute like just now.

I have an idea or two for new TOS features that I would like to try out, so I am also very interested in this topic.

Is there any description how to set up a development environment?

Hi jlolling and mjacob,

To make our R&D department aware of your questions, what I can suggest is to post your feedback and potential improvements on the Bugtracker. You will be able to find it through this link: https://jira.talendforge.org/secure/Dashboard.jspa

Best,
Pcoffre.

As suggested by pcoffre someone logged this.
jira talendforge org search for TBD-3743
(I have posted less than 10 times so I cannot post a live url)
I have not tried it, but it looks like the latest solution smile

Kind regards
Hennie
