Thank you for being a part of our community,
The Talend Team.
I've just downloaded the MapR big data sandbox (on VirtualBox if it makes any difference) and I'm having problems installing any programs to the VM because the talend user is not in the sudoers list.
I've had a quick Google search for it and gone through the provided cookbook documentation but can't find the root password so that I can add the talend user to the sudoers list (could I also ask that you add the default user plus any other necessary users to the sudoers list for future versions of these?).
Could someone please provide it if possible?
For what it's worth, I'm wanting to install DropBox on the VM because I find it the easiest way to share files between the VM and host while also backing up my work.

Hi - I tried the HortonWorks version with VirtualBox but it just blew the memory and crashed. I have a 4GB mac book but the VB settings said 3.4GB needed to run the appliance.
I set the values to DEFAULT - should I have left them alone or do I need more memory?
Do you mean VMware player starts, but the Sandbox image doesn't start? Can you attach a screen shot?
Is it possible that the downloaded file is truncated? What size is it?
I have the same issue as CDYNES - the appliance DOES NOT LOAD. I have VBox on 4GB macbook with 50GB free disk space and it still blows up???
Does it need 100GB free disk to load the 2nd large VDMK file?
after going through the systen requirements I think 4GB of memory is not enough to run the Sandbox - I tried and it took just too long to even start up.
Did anyone try to run the Sandbox on AWS? Since I can't afford an upgrade of my machine right now, this might be an alternative (not really for free) to try out Talend Open studio
Any opinions are highly appriciated.
I want to know that Enterprise Big Data 30 days trail version will have TAC or not?
Enterprise Big Data 30 days trail version has TAC.
but, here is Page about "Big Data Sandbox".
It's different solution. You should ask at "Enterprise Big Data" page.
I'm tried "Hortonworks for VirtualBox" and "Hortonworks for VMware".
but It can't import to VirtualBox and VMware.
After I downloaded "Cloudera for VirtualBox".
I could import and Start Up.
I set VirtualBox memory "1427MB" (MyMachine is not so enough memory so I afraid about VirtualMachine will not start up.)
but Memory was not enough.
Start up TOS, then error happend.
MyMachine is windows 32bit ver, RAM 4GB, can Use Memory about 20GB.
Please tell me!!
Is "Hortonworks for VirtualMachine" can use?
What's the Spec to use "Big Data Sandbox"?
Japanese corporation AIR
have the sandbox upgrade to 6.x?
Where can I get the 6.x version they talk about in this video?
